Riffobia, the self-titled release from Riffobia can be best described as a strong blend of all the classic foundations of thrash from the riffs, drums, pace, vocals, and everything concerned with being a solid authentic thrash metal band akin to the founding fathers of thrash. I like this kind of music, so it ticks all the boxes for me, I thought it was pretty fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed banging my head and bouncing around.
Verdict: For non-thrashers/non-extreme metal heads you may think it all sounds the same to you without an individual identity. The untrained ear (not to be patronising or a snob, not meant in that way at all) may think, ok it sounds like Exodus, Kreator, early Metallica, and so on. For me, this is direct, fast, and raw aggressive thrash metal, which I love.
